A common question is, how many lights do I need for my tree? As a golden rule, the experts over at Lights4Fun say you need 100 bulbs or 5 metres of lights per 2ft of a Christmas tree. So in theory, if decorating a 4ft tree you would ideally need 200 bulbs or 10 metres of lights, for a 6ft Christmas tree you would need 300 bulbs or 15 metres of lights, and so forth.
And remember, you can also get shorter length tree lights for smaller Christmas trees, and even battery-operated lights, typically for miniature desk trees.
